Why do you do what you do?

I love to solve problems. I'm bored if I'm not creating, problem-solving or learning something new. This job gives me all of the above.

Who (or what) inspires you the most?

Anyone who works hard and does their best with a positive attitude — and I have a lot of those people around me (Jan, Rachel — looking at you). I'm also inspired by barbecue pit masters, other talented chefs, jazz musicians, Apple products and great beer.

What do you like the most about your work?

I love thinking outside of the box, meeting challenges, exploring new ways to do things.

What would you do if you weren't doing this work?

I would work with wood in my workshop. I don't have a workshop, or wood. But if I wasn't doing this, I would have both. And in my downtime, I would travel in a refurbished camper van or old pickup to music venues, art museums, seasides and NFL games.
